Our first wrestler has entered the BEAT THE CHAMPION TOURNAMENT at Theatr John Ambrose in Ruthin on Saturday 16th of September.
"SLIM" JIM BRENNAN is the first Wrestler to step forward. The 6'1" 26 year old from Manchester is keen and eager to put his wrestling skills to the test at the BEAT THE CHAMPION tournament.
BRENNAN at 13 stone 6 lbs is a nimble Middleweight Wrestler fighting out of the Squared Circle Gym in Oldham. Trained by Marty Jones, a former 7 times Mid-Heavyweight world champion, BRENNAN certainly has the wrestling credentials to put the toughest men in the world down for a three count at short notice.
On confirming his participation in the BEAT THE CHAMPION Tournament BRENNAN said "This is a great opportunity for young wrestlers like me to get the chance to properly compete in this country. I'm made up I've been accepted as a contender and really look forward to meeting the people of Ruthin." When asked if he liked the idea of competing in Wales BRENNAN said "I love travelling in Wales, it's a beautiful country and full of nice people. I've never been to Ruthin before, but I've seen pictures on Google and can see it's a gorgeous place to live. Hopefully, it won't be my only visit to Ruthin and that I can return as the Ruthin Champion on October 28th." We then asked if he felt nervous as a young Wrestler competing away from his friends and family "Not at all! I'm very confident in my Wrestling, I've trained for over 4 years and I'm absolutely ready to compete. I know my family will be routing for me back home, but I also know that the people in Wales are kind and supportive and I will be wrestling my hardest for them to get the win!"
To watch "SLIM" JIM BRENNAN live and in person on Saturday 16th of September at Theatr John Ambrose, make sure you get your tickets early!
